- In many cities, including Los Angeles, if you are constructing a new building or renovating an old one and it's over $100,000.00, the city requires you to pay an "art fee" of 1% of all the project costs. The problem with that fee is that the City absorbs that 1% and doesn't create any art! By hiring an artist, such as myself, I can save you thousands of dollars. Not only do you get an original work of art, but the appraised value of the work can be much higher than the costs of paying the artist for the work. The city includes the appraised amount in the total required 1% to satisfy the art fee. I'm creating this website to help business owners like myself save money, and to open up more opportunities to get my unique sculptures into public spaces.
